There was a twist at the middle/end regarding the betrayal. It doesn't make him immune from his dumb headed self, but it explains more than the basics of cheating.
Seems unfair not to gift yourself the happy ending and the truth behind the betrayal. But I get it, sometimes I need to take a break before I can read through betrayal part, in the end I’m happy I did.
This author is a hit or miss for me so I always research her books before diving in. This one I won’t be reading because cheating is a line I cannot have my MCs forgiving. The reviews I’ve read, it seems to me the MMC never would have come back to FMC if his career didn’t nosedive. That’s not love, that’s a no-choice circumstance at the end of which she just miraculously happens to be waiting for him.
Secondly, it’s giving me the ‘woman is there to heal the broken man AFTER he destroyed her’ vibes and I hate that. He left her when he was fit/fun/whole/able to rock the world and came back when all that was gone. She got his scars, not his glory because he chose to give it to others. That’s utterly cruel. So no, I’ll be sitting this one out.
Thank you for your review. It helped me decide. 🙏🏼
