Totally agree. Could not believe that she was drugged/crazy/kept captive for years by that total idiot of a husband and persuaded that she was somehow in the past. I was also annoyed bc I actually wanted her to be in the past seeing that tradwifery equals drudgery. I feel like the novel had all of the super implausible absurdity of thriller genre but was pretending to be literary fiction.
