Thank you so much :)
Theme ideas could be harvest fest or an autumn festival. Teams like apples v pumpkins, or solar v lunar. I love the idea of bingo and board games. Reading & seasonal prompts
Thank you so much, Anna, I really appreciate your thoughts! 😁I really love the idea of an autumn festival and teams apple vs. pumpkins :) Maybe teams can compete in a board game.
I’d like to suggest Dirty Island Secrets by Messy Velvet. It’s a dark forced proximity romance with power play, surrender, and intense tension.

Congratulations on your book, Messy! Unfortunately, we don't include specific books in reading challenges, but thanks for the book rec :)
i just saw this thread so i didnt include this in the form but i absolutely love the idea of a read a thon !!
Yes, thank you for filling out the form!! Maybe we'll host a year long read a thon in 2027 for each month, where people can join whichever months they'd like, but those who participate in more months get more points (so they'll be a winner for each month, and then a winner at the end of the year). I'm thinking month to month there'll be teams, but also individual score keeping for the end of the year?
Given that each monthly read-a-thon will be fairly short, I think it wouldn't be too hard to keep track of individual and team points. Hopefully XD
Also, I forgot to mention in my first post and in the form: if anyone has any ideas for prizes, please share! Unfortunately it would have to be something that could be done on GR- maybe doubling or tripling BOTM votes?
that sounds so fun!! i like that you can choose which months to join bc some months i am definitely more busy than others! maybe there could be bonuses for read a thons for people who read slower so it feels fair??
That's good to hear! I like that idea a lot!! What about before the month starts, people can choose a goal of how many books they want to read, and if they meet that goal during the monthly read a thon, they get bonus points? (So it's more about goals rather than just the number of books read?)
And then perhaps page numbers will count for points instead of books finished, because during monthly read a thons that are only a day or two, people might not be able to finish a whole book in that time span?

I know we still have about 6 weeks left of the Island of Stories challenge, but I thought I'd like to start getting feedback for the next challenge (the remainder of 2026 is going to get busy for me :)).
Feel free to comment on one or all of the ideas below! If you haven't participated in a group challenge yet, I'd still love to hear what you think. Some things to consider:
❊ FORMAT ❊
- Typical book prompts challenge
- Read-a-thon: starts at first of the month, runs till the Sunday of that week (the first of the month is a Sat → marathon 2 days long, if a Monday → 7 days long, if a Sunday → till the next Sunday)
--> Thanks to Kay-Mika for the idea!
- Book bingo challenge (bingo board w/ prompts)
- Board game challenge
- Other...?
❊ SET UP ❊
- Team, partner, or individual challenge?
--> If teams, how many teams? (likely will do 2, but I'd still love to hear your opinion)
- How long should the challenge last?
❊ THEME ❊
- Autumn themed
- Anything else that comes in two/a pair: sun & moon, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, etc.
--> Maybe each team can have some of its own unique prompts based on its name?
- Other...?
Your feedback is greatly appreciated! I hope to finalize this challenge in the next couple of weeks. Let me know if you have any questions whatsoever!
