This one quietly opened my heart...yes, great description! Glad this one resonated with you, Karen! I enjoyed it too.
A lovely review for another lovely book by Ann Patchett. Enjoy your revisiting of this amazing author, Karen.
As someone who has never had the opportunity of experiencing flight, I still understand your lack of desire of it, Karen, but infinity marks to Rick for being so understanding. And as ever, a beautiful review, your writing is mesmerizing, it just envelops you. 🩷
This is one the most beautiful reviews you have written so far. This book sounds incredible. Stunning review Karen. ♥
Great review, Karen! Wow, that's a huge ringing endorsement! Glad you loved it so much and I can't wait to get to this one myself. :)
Oh, Karen, what a beautiful review! The book is quite worthy of it. I agree with your assessment 100%, but my review isn't eloquent in any way. But it's staying with me as well and will be worth re-reading. Ann Patchett narrates the audio version and is fantastic, you just melt right into the story.
Awesome that you found your new favorite of 2026. Will it remain the top book for you at the end of the year? 🤔
Love the five stars. Wonderful thoughts as always my friend.
What an amazing review, Karen! And your lucky streak continues with your LFL—wow, we don’t get many new great books like this in the many ones around here, I’m looking forward to this one, and appreciate your heartfelt, stunning review! 💗
Karen, wonderful review! I loved how you connected to the story and the characters and how you found parts of yourself and your life in this story. I just bought the audiobook, I hope to enjoy all the quiet moments 💙
Wow--what a compelling, powerful review, Karen! I'm so anxious to read this one! (I just finished listening to Ann's These Precious Days and I really loved it.)
Lovely and wonderful review! So happy you had such a grand experience with this book. It looks like it might make me ‘feel’ a little too much. But one day I hope I can read or listen to books like this again and enjoy and appreciate them again!
😊.
Very beautiful review, Karen! I love the thoughtful insights, and how deeply you connect to characters and their stories.
Wow what and enticing review Karen, also thank you for sharing parts if your personal story too! It always adds to a review right? Great review as usual
This is my favorite book of the year also. I loved it. :-) It was fun to read your review and see which parts remained with you.
What a beautiful review, Karen! Written from the heart. (Not that your other reviews are not.) But this one reveals that the book really touched you. I came across Ann Patchett while reading ‘The Correspondent’ by Virginia Evans, where the protagonist sends Patchett a letter, giving her views on a book she liked by the author. Now you have convinced me…I’ll read ’Whistler’ for sure. Are all Patchett’s books equally good?
Wonderful review! I have weeks to go before it’s my turn at the library. I may have to get it through Audible!
A delightful review, Karen! I've been pondering on this book, not sure if it is for me, or not. I might just give it a try😊.
Nice review, Karen! Maybe I need to give it a try because I’m scared to read hyped books, sometimes they end up disappointing. 🌿
Yay! So happy you loved it, too! What a fabulous review, Karen. You’ve outdone yourself. Five star review for a five star book! 🤩🎉👏🏼👏🏼💝
I just finished The Count of Monte Christo. What an adventure and in-depth look into the human condition. Highly recommend! ❤️
I love Eddie. <3 This book is a love letter to humanity, to the kindnesses we show one another, to the ways in which we can revisit the past and see people afresh, shedding the old stories. It's also a celebration of books. No surprise, since cheerleading for books is Ann Patchett's jam.
Your passion for this book comes across so clearly in your review, Karen. Glad it was a five star read for you.

Personally I'm often thinking I need to make a list of characters names and their relationships to others in book.
That being said, I greatly admire yourself and others that publish such lovely reviews. Have a great summer.
