The Glass Castle was a DNF for me, and it doesn’t sound like I would fare any better with this one. Terrific review! 💖

Thank you Jayme. The only reason I read this one was because it was a donation to my LFL. Otherwise I wouldn't have at all, for the very same reason you mention. Her writing style just doesn't inspire.

I am so glad I am not alone with this one. Thank you Melissa!
The family business -- definitely the crux of the story. I enjoyed the ride. Sorry it was a miss for you, Karen. Excellent review!
Fair and terrific review, Karen! I’m a little obsessed with this author (Lol), so I just love anything that she writes. I loved The Glass Castle and Half Broke Horses - those books for me were definitely better than this one.

I know how much you loved this book, Rachel. I even commented on it - and how much the author has a tendency to write from an emotional point of view. But, I think I am over her now. I am finding myself getting this way about "known" authors, these days. I am exploring less known ones - mostly through the donations I receive in my LFL, and the debut authors I read about. Maybe the known ones are getting too complacent in my mind. I don't know. But, I still loved your review. :)
