Susan's Reviews Excellent, heartfelt review, Nilton. I wasn't aware that they made a musical out of this book. The movie was okay, but I never expect movies to improve on the movie, with one or two exeptions: Project Hail Mary was a fascinating read, but the movie was a visual masterpiece. I highly recommend both! And that is saying a lot, because I am not into Sci Fi at all!)

I loved this book as well. None of this author's other novels worked for me as well as this one did. I was riveted from the start. The movie in no way does this book justice, so you did right to avoid it, in my opinion. Sometimes I wonder whether inspiration strikes an author, and just as suddenly disappears. Look at Margaret Mitchell, who wrote Gone with the Wind. She scribbled a few stories for her own amusement, but never published another novel. I got into so much trouble because I kept hiding away, sitting away in the bathtub sometimes, so I could read this book. I was in my teens at the time. My parents' couldn't and never did understand my need to read. Work hard, play harder, as the saying goes. For me, playing means reading a good book and getting lost in it. I even take a book to the gym. So glad you enjoyed this one: Happy Reading!

NILTON TEIXEIRA Thanks Susan, for sharing your thoughts and experiences.
When you have a chance, check the videos on YouTube for the musical. It was a big success on Broadway.
The show ran for 8 months in 2024.
The show was a major awards contender, earning seven Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical
This year Mirvish produced the show in Toronto.
The creativity was mesmerizing!
And the storyline was terrific. I didn’t like the adaptation.
All the actors were excellent.
I would see it again, if it returns.
