Becky, you so eloquently put into words what disgusts me these days with these so-called "romances". I am beyond tired and disgusted with these writers who write this nonsense. Fictional Romances nowadays has become porn. Not romance - porn. Tropes like the one you mentioned above can only be seen as porn and has no basis in the category of fictional romance. I don’t know how the publishing world works, but someone is not doing their job to not oversee this false advertising and misleading readers by allowing them to categorize as something and not deliver on it.
As for this writer who wrote this masterpiece and others like her, I wonder who the heck they are writing for? Is it for ARC readers who don’t pay a dime for it or is it for people who like to read or listen to porn? I'm so embarrassed & ashamed for them.

Beautiful Disaster Era sucked. That book was atrocious, I never liked it then and I don’t like it now. It is so triggering for me even still

Paula I ask myself the same think and I am all for kink in books between the couple. I was shocked reading this because it was treated as something not absurd. I really wonder what people categorize as romance
Hummingbird I have no idea, he is basically and ass. He even brings girls he had a foursome with the hero to their house to shove them at the heroines faces after knowing they were sleeping together because he was upset they did behind his back like they are not two consent adults who dont need his permision.
And the heroine is says shomething like that when he apologizes "thats okay, I also made mistakes by being with with behind his back" like how is his downright disrespect anywhere near her being with the hero?!

Flip and Tristan were disgusting! I get that in books most of the times the men are fuckboys and it "justifies" their "bedroom abilities. But these two were a new low. Flip was just down right revolting. His sister was right there and he didn't give a flying f*ck. And this woman was basically their maid. I get that these guys were athletes and all, but functional adults should be able to clean or pick up after themselves.

I feel like her books are getting worse and worse. Is she trying to disgust people? This isn’t romance, it is warped erotica.
I DNF’d this book because I couldn’t figure out when they were going to fall in love but I was disgusted by the behavior.

This is the book that turned this author from an “always buy” author to a “sometimes buy” author.
I’m so glad for this review. I’m reading the last 2 in the series (the only ones I’ve read in the series) + the one about Essie. I must say those books are nothing like this glaringly icky stuff. Had I read this book, I’d have DNF’d and sworn off HH for good. So maybe it’s a good thing I only picked up the last 2? Ironically Flip is the last book and he is nothing like the brother in the review (thank goodness!). I came because I wanted to know what ‘obscene’ things he’s done in the past…and now I know 😬
However, maybe HH read the reader views and mended her ways? Thank you for this though💖
