How about this?
The new guy/girl gets assigned to the worst job in the lab, dog feces ID. While checking a "sample", (s)he finds some odd bone fragments. Testing reveals that the dog was a Rottweiler, and the bone fragments were a little girl who was reported missing two weeks before.

So veterans from the wars bring home souvenirs but my question would be why hide it in the wall? They could put it in like a lock box of some kind. That is strange.
As far as the head and hands found in a freezer - that article said the police have been in contact with the previous owners - they need to be dragging them off to jail in my opinion. None of that article made sense really as who would leave a freezer behind with a dead body inside as evidence? Really? Odd stuff! lol

That is funny! lol Looks like they picked up a lot from humans - not in a good way either. I never thought about parrots learning swear words but I guess if they hear it enough then they will start doing it themselves. Maybe they need to put a sign out front that says "do not talk to the parrots"! lol

An eldritch light without color fills the room, and in the distance below a fell uncanny bell rings with dolorous notes.
Hector crouched before the doorway and stared into the abyss, his face paling, his rheumy eyes widenening, his already white hair falling from his scalp.
The abyss stared back with innumerable eyes.
Hector fell forward through the doorway, laughing hysterically, and screaming in abject terror in turn.
Only Cracker remained to witness the door swing back and close with a tremendous crash.
