Great review, Jason. I read a 1931 edition that had been withdrawn from the Kansas City Public Library. It had date stamps ranging from 1937-1985. By 1985, Washington had been stifled by the racial racketeers you alluded to. Dubois (a Marxist) had been decreed fashionable, and Washington old-fashioned. It's one of the great communist coups of the 20th Century. I ran across an article not long ago about a black professor who finally read Washington late in life and wept for not having been introduced to him earlier. The ones who bury Washington also bury Thomas Sowell and other great thinkers, and they mentally and intellectually cripple generations of black students who have been carefully guided away from their ideas and their writings while being pointed to more Marxian sources.
