Title: Nina and the Case of the Vanishing Cupcakes
Age range: 5–9 (chapter book, ~6,000 words, ~20-minute read)
Genre: Cozy mystery, fully illustrated
Twelve special cupcakes have vanished from the village bakery, hours before the Spring Tea Festival. The doors were locked. The windows were latched. And the crime scene has been wiped suspiciously clean.
Nina is a gray-and-white cat with a nose for trouble. She can't speak to people, so she solves her cases the way a real cat would: watching, sniffing, and leading her friend Emily straight to the clues. Her partner Paris, a small tortoiseshell kitten, is absolutely certain the culprit is a raccoon. Paris is usually wrong. Paris is never discouraged.
It's a fair-play mystery, so every clue is on the page and young readers can solve it right alongside Nina. Gentle and completely clean: no danger, no villains. The culprit turns out to be someone kind who panicked, and the ending is about telling the truth and asking for help.
What I'm offering: a free advance copy (EPUB or PDF) of the finished book. An honest review is hugely appreciated but never required. Goodreads reviews can go up anytime; Amazon doesn't allow them until the book is live, so those would go up on launch day (Aug 26).
Perfect for parents, grandparents, teachers, or librarians who read with young children. You don't need to have read Book 1, it stands alone.
Comment here or send me a message and I'll get a copy to you. Thank you so much!
