Hello Tina, Yes, I do believe that changing our perspective can genuinely change our experience of life, even when our circumstances remain exactly the same.
For me, the key isn't simply "positive thinking," but seeing reality more clearly. We often spend so much energy trying to change the world around us that we rarely stop to ask whether we understand it correctly in the first place. When our understanding changes, our priorities change, our responses change, and our experience of life changes with them.
This idea resonates deeply with me because it's very close to the central theme of the book I recently wrote, The Path: A Disciplined Mindset for Inner Peace. One of the conclusions I came to is that lasting inner peace doesn't begin with changing our behaviour or circumstances, it begins with understanding reality more clearly. From an Islamic perspective, that clarity comes through Tawhid, which provides a framework for understanding our relationship with God, ourselves, and the world around us.
Has a book or spiritual principle ever helped me find peace? Absolutely. The single principle that has had the greatest impact on my life is Tawhid. It transformed my understanding of purpose, suffering, and even success. I found that when I stopped viewing life as a series of isolated events and began seeing it as part of a coherent, purposeful reality, many of the anxieties I had carried for years simply began to lose their hold.
If I could see one challenge through God's eyes, what would it be? Probably uncertainty. We all experience periods where we can't see the reason for what we're going through. Looking at those moments through the lens of faith reminds me that my understanding is always limited, while God's wisdom is not. That doesn't necessarily remove the difficulty, but it changes how I carry it.
That's why I found the premise of Through God's Eyes so intriguing. Although it approaches the subject from a different spiritual tradition, it seems to be exploring a very similar idea: that peace begins not by changing the world, but by changing the way we understand it. Based on your description, it's definitely a book I'd like to read.
I think the most influential books don't just give us new information, they help us see reality differently. Once that happens, our lives often begin to change even before our circumstances do.

I've recently come across Through God's Eyes by Phil Bolsta, and one of the central ideas immediately caught my attention:
What if true peace comes not from changing our circumstances, but from changing the way we see them?
The book suggests that many of life's struggles, fear, grief, disappointment, uncertainty, forgiveness, and even our search for purpose, can be transformed when we learn to view life through a higher spiritual perspective. Rather than focusing on religious doctrine, it explores universal spiritual wisdom and encourages readers to see themselves, others, and the world through the lens of love, compassion, and divine guidance.
One question that stood out to me is:
❓ Do you believe that changing your perspective can genuinely change your life experience, even when your circumstances remain the same? Why or why not?
And for those who have explored spiritual or personal-growth books:
❓ Has there ever been a book, quote, or spiritual principle that helped you find peace during a difficult season of life?
Whether you're religious, spiritual, agnostic, or simply interested in personal growth, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Let's have an open and respectful discussion about finding meaning, purpose, and peace in today's often chaotic world.
📚 Bonus Question: If you could see one challenge in your life "through God's eyes" (or through a higher perspective), what challenge would it be?
