This book could easily be rebranded as The Un-Whitewashed Story of America, as I learned more about American history facts (Black and White)than I ever did in any textbook.
I learned how deep and profound racism and segregation and inequality runs. How for HUNDREDS of years white people have pushed for supremacy. How Black hands and backs built this country and how white people still claim that work and success, the inventions, the power.
This book may look and sound (based on its cover), to only be for Black people to learn about Black History, but without the White History that created the landscape within which they lived and live, there would be no book. And it’s not pretty.
Don’t take my word for it, read it yourself. See how many: WTF moments of disgust and clarity and shame you have. Then let’s talk. (Those tabs are mine) (I have several in-depth reviews on my pages)
White people, we haven’t even scratched the surface of understanding, of knowing how racist we/this country are/is. And do not stand on: I voted for Obama as your claim to not being racist; because unless you are currently standing against where we are today in this country, you are still part of the problem.
