Hi Booktok friends! I am A.A. Dusk, solo indie author, and I recently released my debut graphic memoir and illustrated prose, "Under the Fading Light," on Amazon US.
To celebrate the launch and connect with fellow contemporary poetry and memoir lovers in the West, I am opening a limited number of digital review copies (ARC) for this community in exchange for an honest reflection on Goodreads.
This intimate collection pairs raw human text with a haunting visual atmosphere under my creative direction, exploring the quiet voids where our steps begin to fade. The journey begins right inside the modern cages of our daily exhaustion:
"my heart beats in time with a clock that labors through the hours without rest. these pages before me are but a score written by the melody of time, slowly forcing me to dance until i am spent."
This text faces a visceral watercolor illustration of a cluttered wooden desk—overflowing with documents, a forgotten cup of coffee, and a cold window overlooking a foggy skyscraper skyline. From there, the book drags you into the freezing, drizzling concrete of an urban labyrinth, capturing a lone silhouette walking completely alone beneath the warm yellow glow of a solitary streetlight.
Where does this lone silhouette go when the streetlights eventually turn off? What happens when the city lights fade into unbroken silence? I choose to leave those remaining pages in the dark for now. It is a journey meant to be uncovered in the quiet privacy of your own hands.
Creating this solo project has been a brutal learning curve field with spacing anomalies and raw layout imperfections. But if you decide to read it, you own a piece of pure human emotion.
If you are interested in grabbing a digital review copy and leaving your genuine thoughts on Goodreads, simply leave a comment below and I will reach out to your inbox to send the file directly.
Thank you so much for supporting independent solo authors, and I look forward to finding solace in the fading light together!
