Will we eventually see a Volume Five collection? I'm not much of an e-reader, I much prefer reading physical books, and I'm afraid the Subterranean Press editions are harder to come by up here in Canada, at least for a reasonable price. But I would love to be able to read your latest Penric novellas in physical form, so hopefully you will release a fifth (and potentially sixth) volume in the near future!

A 5th volume is possible -- I would title it Penric's Lessons -- but whether it's economically feasible for the publisher will depend on how well #4 sells. Present Amazon sales ranking is... not heartening. (Amazon is hardly the only vendor for books, but it's the one place where an author can check sales health in real-time, so it works as a proxy. Print publisher royalty statements take years to drift in.)

I bought the Subterranean Press hardcovers of Penric's Demon, Penric and the Shaman, and Penric's Mission. Then my shrinking checking account compelled me to buy all the rest as ebooks for my Kindle tablet. I eagerly await The Kin Jurald Family's Journeys to Easthome, et al., as implied at the end of Demonic Ox, but sidetracked by Darksight Dare.

On my latest re-read, I included the other Five Gods novels too. It was interesting seeing the sorcerers in those again, knowing what we know about sorcery now thanks to Penric. And I started wondering: when Foix goes for training at the Bastard’s order, will he be presented with a copy of Essentials of Sorcery and the Management of Demons Volume One, by Penric, Ruchia et al? And what would that training look like? Would Penric’s legacy live on?
Oh, and thank you very much for the expanded map in Penric’s intrigues! It was wonderful to get a better picture of the whole of Cedonia. I think I was picturing the peninsula going east, not north, before that - it made a lot more sense of the directions in the stories. :-)
