Great Joys, Great Sorrows: An Immigrant’s Journey through Surgical Residency
Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce a new audio release that’s been making waves in the literary and medical world.Great Joys, Great Sorrows is the 4th volume of Dr. Michael Meguid’s A Surgeon's Tale series. It recently won the New York and Hollywood Book Festivals, and for good reason. It’s a deeply personal story of an immigrant surgeon navigating a prestigious but brutal residency while searching for identity and belonging.
Critically appraised as 'as informative as it is moving,' it's a 12-hour immersive experience that brings 1970s Boston to life.
👇 Check it out on Audible here:

Hi all, I am Anna Wren. I’m newbie here. For anyone who hasn’t read it, Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree is the one I’d point to, it’s the book that got me hooked on cozy fantasy in the first place. On a personal note, I write cozy fantasy myself, my own book is called The Indigo Bazaar. Always happy to swap recommendations and make a few reading friends here. Feel free to add me, I’ll add back.

I'm also the author of Quit Letting Everything Affect You: Unshackled, a book about overcoming overthinking, emotional self-sabotage, and learning to protect your peace. I look forward to connecting with fellow readers, discovering great books, and being part of the conversations here.
Thank you for having me—I can't wait to get to know you all! 😊📚
My name is Emory. I like thrillers like Dan Brown and Michael Crichton. I haven't read James Rollins' new book. Maybe I will this summer. I have been surprised by a couple of indie or new authors with a more modern take on history or science. Maybe something with hard science? Any ideas about 2026 releases? Should I be creating a discussion thread to get ideas?
Hi there,I came across this group while looking for readers who enjoy travel and nonfiction, thought this might be a good fit.
My co-author Timmo and I wrote "Sailing Through the Excess," about his 13 years working aboard the world's most exclusive superyachts: the access, the excess, and the human cost of it. It tends to spark good discussion around wealth, work, and what luxury really costs the people serving it.
The book also features Oprah :)
Would love to read your thoughts!
Warm regards,
Gemma
