A great book with excellent characters and storyline. Billy's story is a deeply sensitive one with a lot of emotion. The story goes backward from Billy being an old man and reflecting on his life and his difficult relationship with his father. It also passes through some other family events, including interactions with friends.
The story does end with a sad ending, with Billy passing away, but is soon lifted with him rejoining with other family members. I'm not entirely sure if this is a book for kids, but if so, then it might be an idea to have an adult around in case the child has any questions.
