Thank you for this honest and generous review, Jeannie. I wanted to add one note: the antisemitism depicted in the book reflects real experiences I witnessed, included so readers could see that prejudice clearly and recognize how ugly it is, not to normalize it. Despite the darkness of the politics and the wars, I hold a real love for both Israelis and Palestinians that hasn't changed. I'm grateful the parts about being a displaced teenager landed for you, and thank you for reading despite any discomfort along the way.
