Carlene Hi everyone,

Shortly, you'll be receiving a message that invites you to come check in with us if you're still reading with NetGalley. This is the thread for that.

We know our everyday users, many of us have had friendships built here over years, but with over 6,000 members there's no way to tell who is still reading with Netgalley, who is still participating here, and even who might want to participate with us but feels overwhelmed. I have done a massive clean up, removing accounts with zero books read and zero comments here, but tackling any other clean up is something that'll take time. I want to ensure everyone who wants an opportunity to engage here has it.

Come say hi, tell us about yourself, what you're reading, if you're still using Netgalley, etc. Pop your various links into the threads under Introduction. Let us know if there's a specific thread you'd like to see added here going forward.

Carlene Hi everyone! I’m Carlene, 36, and I’ve been a moderator here since the early days of the group. It’s honestly wild and wonderful to think about how long this community has been around and how much it has grown.
Outside of book life, I’m a stepmom of one and a Procurement Manager, so life can get pretty busy — which means I don’t always get to pop in as often as I’d like lately. But I truly value what we’ve built here and the friendships, conversations, recommendations, and shared bookish excitement that have come from this space over the years.
I mostly read romance and thrillers, but honestly, I’ll give just about anything a chance if it catches my attention. I’d love to hear what everyone else is reading these days. I am currently trying to figure out what ARC of mine I want to read next.

Rene Allen-Alonge Hi! I am a newer NetGalley arc reader and wanted to jump on and introduce myself.

message 4: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman I’m still reading ARC’s. Currently on The Chain House by J.H. Markert. Forgot I was a member here. Thanks for the reminder!

message 5: by lauren (new)

lauren Hi!! I’ve been reading ARCs in net galley since last August! I’ve reviewed 89 books and audiobooks so far. Can’t believe I’m almost at 100! It’s the coolest platform and I love leaving reviews.

message 6: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Moore Hello! I’m Jennifer and this is year 6 for me as a NetGalley reader. I love getting ARCs and connecting with readers and authors on social media. My dream is to one day publish my own book. I’m mainly a suspense/thriller and historical fiction reader, but dabble in other genres as well. Sci-fi is probably the last thing you’d see me reading. 🥴

message 7: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Vacanti | ARC reviewer hello! i’m victoria! 33, buffalo, and still blacking out on netgalley! thrillers are my absolute favorite but i love a good romance or contemporary fiction as a palette cleanser!

message 8: by lauren (new)

lauren Oh yes and I just finished an ARC of The Grapevine by Alexandra Sokoloff and Craig Robertson. Just started When You Loved Me by Beatriz Williams. Listening to an ALC of The Lowe Job by Grace Alexander.

Deanna Loves to Read!!:) Hi! I have been reading ARCs for two years! I love mystery/thrillers, fiction, and historical fiction that is based on real events! Right now I’m reading The Season of Sinking by Daphne Wolsencroft and liking it! Looking forward to connecting with others and reading your reviews!

message 10: by Sky (new)

Sky Heyo I'm Sky, I've been reading eARCs for a few years now primarily through netgalley. Had to take a break most of last year though due to getting severely burnt out so having to go through my arc backlog this year 🫠

Just finished up an eARC for Bridget & Gabe Are Not Okay though which was genuinely awesome, and got a few more on the list to read 👀

message 11: by Phrynne (last edited Jun 22, 2026 06:02PM) (new)

Phrynne Hi! I have been in this group for a few years now and visit it once a day. I read a lot of ARCS from Netgalley and my favourite thread on this site is Just Requested and Recently Approved. It is very useful to see what is new from other readers.

message 12: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra Hello! I’m Kassandra and I joined the group about a year ago. I am a mom of 3 boys, a huge Dodgers fan, and I love to read during my free time. I am still reading ARC’s through NetGalley. ☺️

message 13: by AllBookedUp (new)

AllBookedUp Hi Everyone!

Library worker by day, professional page-turner by night.

I'm Bae, and my Goodreads handle says it all: I am permanently #AllBookedUp. My favorite genres include contemporary fiction, mystery, historical fiction, YA, and romance. I love a good thriller (though I skip the psychological ones that keep me up all night!).

I’ll give almost any book a shot if the cover or premise catches my eye. Naturally, this means NetGalley is my happy place! I’m truly a kid in a candy store over there! Always looking for my next great read.

(^_^)/

message 14: by Carlene (new)

Carlene I am so loving seeing all these comments already.

I have FAR TOO many ARCs in my backlog, so I’m purposefully ignoring any of you saying something is good. 😅

Bibliophile Dragon Ji-Li Hi, I'm Ji-Li! I just started NetGalley in December of last year, but I'm absolutely taking advantage of it to enjoy so many good pre-release books.
I'm currently enjoying Under the Oak Tree novel 3 on NetGalley. <3

message 16: by Audrey (new)

Audrey I'm 50, a mom of five, and a freelance editor and a musician. I still do NetGalley but am way behind on it. I'm on ARC teams for two local authors, so they're my priority.

My Kindle just developed a glitch where I can't put new books on it, so that's annoying.

I am reading an ARC of Serpent Queen, which concludes this series.

message 17: by Aimee Beloved (new)

Aimee Beloved Nerdy Auntie Hi I’m Aimee from Tennessee and I am a fully functioning NetGalley addict for the last 6 months 🤣 one day I’ll get my ratio over 70 percent!🤣

message 18: by lauren (new)

lauren Hi! I’m Lauren & I’m from California!

I am a teacher & I have two black cats. My main genres are romance and fantasy. Some of my favorites include Catching Fire, Scythe, The Rose Bargain, & Heartless Hunter.

If you want to connect on any socials, my TikTok is laurenslibrary331 <3

Billie's Not So Secret Diary Hey Everyone, I started reading ARCs through NetGalley in 2020, and I am still reading, but this year I'm behind. I think I'm getting YA, Fantasy, and Series burnout. The adult content is another factor; I don't like it, and now it seems as if every author/publisher has to add it to their books. Even the plots are getting so repetitive that I'm finding myself dreading reading, including those books I really wanted to read when I requested them!

Trying to push through them with an open mind, but getting picky with requesting! (And trying to read books with characters closer to my age, and from my own overflowing library.)

message 20: by Jeanne (new)

Jeanne HI all! I am Jeanne, retired, wife and mom living in Western NY. I started Netgalley late in 2020. I have an embarrassing number of books to review but I don't request much. I seem to get lots of widgets. Thank goodness I love to read. Mostly now I lean into historical fiction although I will read most genres. Not crazy about fantasy or sci fi though.

message 21: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Gorecki Hi, I’m Heidi from around the Charlotte are of NC. Love reading and actively reading Netgalley ARCs - love to bounce around genres, but mostly historical fiction, romance, and mystery/thriller with a little bit of fantasy once in a while.

message 22: by Sara D (new)

Sara D Hiii! Sara from Alaska. Been a NetGalley reader for about 7yrs now. I am not currently reading an arc but my upcoming read after my current is The Secrets We Hide by Karin Slaughter.

message 23: by Kristen Peterson (new)

Kristen Peterson Hi All! I’m Kristen. I read eARCs and have done some ALCs. Favorite genres are literary fiction, historical fiction, magical realism. My favorite book ever is A Wrinkle in Time and I re-read it once a year. I also get deeply sucked into romantasy series when they’re sent my way and it’s becoming a problem. My entire house is also full of books and I’m embarrassed by my TBR piles. Love connecting with other readers! Favorite book of 2026 so far has been The Children. I couldn’t put it down!

message 24: by PamG (last edited Jun 23, 2026 06:54AM) (new)

PamG Hi. I'm Pam from Minnesota. I am active on Goodreads (1/2019) and NetGalley (end of June 2019). I am retired from a global manufacturing company. My last job with them was an IT Director, but I held many roles in the company over my tenure with them.

I have submitted 792 reviews to NetGalley and have a feedback ratio of 97%. I read 150-200 books per year with 75-125 of them being ARCS and mainly from NetGalley. While 60% or so of what I read are mysteries, thrillers, and suspense novels of all sub-genres, I read most fiction genres. For non-fiction, I generally read nature, gardening, history, and genealogy books. I am a co-moderator of one group on GR and the founder/moderator of a second group.

message 25: by Kristen Peterson (new)

Kristen Peterson Also I’ve been reading for about 5 years on NetGalley and I’m from New Jersey!

message 26: by Sandy (new)

Sandy Hi everyone, I'm Sandy from Coastal South Carolina. Im retired, but have been editing for a publishing house for the last year mostly for two NYT best selling authors.

I am an avid NetGalley reader-about two books a month. I try to read thrillers or historical fiction. Im very discerning, and starting to get picky. I haven't done a 5 star this year yet, but Ive got a read for a book coming out in November that might be the one.

message 27: by LauraBeach123 (new)

LauraBeach123 Hi! I’m Laura. I’ve been with NG for 18 months and have about 100 reviews. I love psych thrillers, mysteries, health books and fiction.

message 28: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Hi everyone, I'm Tiffany from California. I've been in this group for several years now and still read Netgalley books, though not as voraciously as I used to. Gone are the days of requesting everything I could get my hands on haha. I'm also an author and have a few books published. My favourite genres are literary fiction, horror, and fantasy.

message 29: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Herrera Hi! I’m Kelly in Southern California. I’ve been reading on NetGalley for four years and I’m still actively requesting titles. I teach English and have been awed at all the great books in 2026. I read romance, suspense, literary fiction, and poetry. I’m close to finishing Hollow Bones by Jodi Picoult.

Julia (historydragonsandmagic) Hi everyone! I’m Julia and I am a Bookstagrammer. My insta handle is @historydragonsandmagic. I love reading fantasy, Sci Fi, horror, and a little bit of lit fic, historical fic and non fic. I do use Netgalley to read ARCs as well as reading physical ARCs. I also have a cat named Arya who I am legally bound to mention. 😉

message 31: by Kirsten Desorcy (new)

Kirsten Desorcy Hi! My name is Kirsten, I’m 36 and I’m a newer member of NetGalley but I have added 25 reviews in this year so far. Of course I’m addicted so I request soooooo many books lol. I like general fiction, mystery/suspense and thrillers. My favorite author is Lisa Jewell. I’m currently reading the JT Ellison series that was put up (14, Judas kiss and the cold room). The last two are re-releases for the end of the month. Too many books to read and not enough time! I love NetGalley but sometimes I get tired of reading off the kindle and wish they also sent out physical arcs… so I try to read two arcs and then one physical book off my tbr. Feel free to add my profile if you want to see my thoughts and current reads!

message 32: by Dr. Alan (new)

Dr. Alan Albarran Hi everyone. I’m Alan, retired and living in North Texas. I have been reading ARCs and posting reviews for a while. I’ve done over 100 reviews. My favorite genres are history, biographies (including Presidential biographies), mystery and suspense, and an occasional horror story or true crime for a diversion. I don’t have a blog but do post reviews to NetGalley, Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, and other random sites.

message 33: by Leslie (new)

Leslie Ammann Hola, I’m Leslie, and I’m a high school library media specialist. I have been part of NetGalley since late winter. I LOVE getting an opportunity to preview books to order for our collection so that we have a well-rounded collection that reflects the student community. I love YA everything, fantasy, scifi, and historical fiction, but I read everything for book talks. Right now I am reading House of Gardenias, and I am not sure how I feel about it yet! Time will tell!!

message 34: by Donna (new)

Donna Hi! I'm Donna from NYC. I still regularly read books from NetGalley and just recently reached 100 reviews. I read mostly romance and thrillers and I'm now adding in romantasy too. I try to keep my ratio at 90%+ so I've been selective with requesting ARCs. My most anticipated approved ARC for the summer is Endless August, a debut by Shelby Rae.

I also ARC read on author teams and through PR companies, plus my backlog of books I own (ebooks, print and audio) and I use the library too. I review books on IG at sparklingyogi574 if you want to connect or see what I've been reading.

message 35: by Jen (new)

You Dreamed of Empires by Álvaro Enrique, translated by Natasha Wimmer (2024)

We are Green and Trembling by Gabriela Cabezon Camara, translated by Robin Myers (2025)

The Pillager’s Guide to Arctic Pianos by Kendra Langford Shaw (2026)

message 36: by Thomas (last edited Jun 22, 2026 06:41PM) (new)

Thomas Hi. I am Thomas from Western NY. I am retired. I joined GR in 2013 and NG in 2014. I have also joined LibraryThing and Edelweiss+ for review books. I have posted 1062 GR reviews and 373 NG reviews. I have 16 in my queue with a 96% feedback ratio. I read historical fiction, mysteries, thrillers, science, nature, biography, history, and politics. I am a moderator on 1 GR group.
When I find a mystery series that I like, I borrow from my library to complete the series.
I don't have a blog. I post on GR, NG, Amazon, EW+, LT, and Bookbub.

Bhavya (semi-offline) Hi everyone, I am Bhavya (she/they) and I am from India. I am somewhat new to actually using NetGalley and just recently joined this group. I read just about anything, currently have a lot of ARCs i still need to get to but a fav was She's a Doll.

message 38: by Shea (new)

Shea Hi everyone! I'm Shea from NC. I've been using NetGalley since 2022 and I'm still active, although I'd definitely consider myself a casual reviewer compared to some. Feedback ratio is 91% and I try not to request more ARCs than I can keep up with on a month. I work in higher ed fundraising which keeps me busy when I'm not reading! My favorite genres are mysteries/thrillers, romance, contemporary fiction, and what publishing insists on calling "women's fiction", a label I've never liked much! 😅
So far this month I've read Road Trip by Mary Kay Andrews and Keep Them Close by David Ellis. Next up is A Study in Sparkling by Jodi McAllister.

message 39: by Queueing Books (new)

Queueing Books Hi everyone!

I go by queueing books - I have a pretty public facing job and so I prefer anonymity online. I decided to do a 52 book challenge this year after rediscovering my love of reading last year and getting through 40+ books. I just started seriously with NetGalley a few months ago, and since then I have been downloading and reviewing at least a book per week. I started because my library holds list just got too long, and I needed something to fill the space between books becoming available. My favorite genres are sci-fi, fantasy, romances (lgbtq and not), and mysteries.

I have a meagre instagram account as well (@queueing_books), just started, for tracking my way to 52 this year. Throw me a follow here or on instagram and I will follow you back! I love reading other people’s reviews and chatting about your reads.

message 40: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn Hi I'm Carolyn from Australia. I've been a Netgalley user for over 10 years where I have read and reviewed over 1300 ARCS. My favourite genre is all things crime, but I also enjoy historical novels, some sci fi as well as literary and contemporary fiction. As well as here, you'll find me on Aussie Readers, Aussie Lovers of Crime and A Good Thriller goodreads groups.

message 41: by Katie (new)

Katie Hi, I’m Katie. I’ve been reading ARCs with NetGalley for a little over a year, and just hit my 50th review! I read a variety of styles and genres, but I am especially drawn to fantasy, historical fiction, speculative/science fiction, lit fic, mystery, and narrative nonfiction. I recently started a bookstagram (@katesometimesreads) and only have a vague idea of what I’m doing, but it’s fun.

My favorite ARCs so far this year have been A Trade of Blood by Robert Jackson Bennett (book 3 in the Shadow of the Leviathan series) and The Girl with a Thousand Faces by Sunyi Dean.

I just started Songs of the Dead by Brandon Sanderson and Peter Orullian. I’m a little behind on that one (pub date was last week), but I’ll get it done. I got approved today for an ALC of Daggerbound (the next T. Kingfisher book), and may have screamed a little bit when I opened the email.

message 42: by Jess (new)

Jess Combs Hello everyone! I’m Jess and I took a break from NetGalley after our youngest arrived but just recently jumped back on and requested a couple.

message 43: by Bree ✨ (new)

Bree ✨ Hello, my name is Breanna and I am a public services librarian and NetGalley user of one year. I do actively use NetGalley to read and review books. I enjoy it as a hobby but professionally it helps me to maintain familiarity with the system collection, sharpen my reader advisory skills, and model good literacy habits. I love a variety of genres but am fond of general fiction, historical nonfiction, fantasy, graphic novels, and queer literature. I’ll try anything but am admittedly not a big fan of mysteries, thrillers, poetry, and most romance. I would be happy to give a follow to new friends, especially to those who have similar taste in books! Happy reading!

message 44: by Chris (new)

Chris Hi! I'm Chris. I've been a Netgalley user for a few years now. I read all genres, but primarily horror, mystery/thriller, and fantasy/sci-fi. I post on Bookstagram at @reading_and_wheeling.

message 45: by Nancy (new)

I have expanded my books I like to read. I love everything from children’s books(great way to find what to buy as gifts) to cookbooks - mystery’s- true crime- romance- historical fiction- travel my list goes on and on. I love getting lost in the pages of a new book. I’ve also found I enjoy Audiobooks! We listen when we travel.
My mother gave me my love of reading. I’m open to new reading friends. I am active on GoodReads.
Happy reading everyone! Th as no you NetGalley for coming in to my world. I’ve got my husband hooked on NetGalley too!

message 47: by Jen (new)

Jen Hi I’m Jen, I still have a backlog of Arc’s to read but still enjoy the experience but am trying not to request anymore so I can potentially catch up and raise my score. :p. I enjoy mysteries, historical fiction, biographies, memoirs, thrillers, and literary fiction.

message 48: by Pav S. (new)

Pav S. (pav_sanborn_bookworm) Hi, I’m Pav—Czech-born, Houston-based (for now - military), and a proud ARC reviewer with a passion for twisty thrillers, chilling horror, heartfelt memoirs, and powerful fiction. English isn’t my first language, but reading in it has become my favorite escape. I started reviewing NG ARCs in June 2024, and since then, I’ve posted already 500 reviews, built an 93%+ NetGalley ratio, and had my reviews featured in advertising. I started to read books in English in 2023.
This year I focus mostly on indie authors and less on well known authors. It has been an incredible journey!

Thanks for having me!
PS. I am not on here a lot, because less scrolling = more reading 😂

message 49: by Sherrie (new)

Sherrie Hi I am Sherrie and I am a newbie to the ARC review world. I have a passion for reading - everything from historical fiction to literary fiction. I am a writer with hopes of writing my book one day, but in the meantime, enjoy reading and writing reviews. Add me as a friend, and check out some of my latest reviews!

message 50: by Annie (new)

Annie Hello! I’m Annie and am excited to say that I recently retired after 25 years as an educator/librarian. Spending most of my time with our new grandchild, camping at the lake, and reading in the hammock with my 75-pound fur baby.

I have post-concussion syndrome so all of my reading lately has been NetGalley ebooks and audiobooks since my eyes can’t follow a line of text in print right now. So thankful for an almost unlimited supply of ARCs to keep me entertained!

Happy reading :)
