Oh my— what a thrill! First of all, good afternoon, everyone (I guess it's still afternoon on your end too), and a million thanks for this thread. I truly hope I can rise to the occasion, because this is quite a challenge for me. Honestly, I'm not sure how this will go: I've been a Goodreads member for many years, but this is actually my first time in a forum like this. So please bear with me if I fumble around a little — feel free to push back, adjust my answers, or set me straight whenever needed.
Before I dive into your comments and questions (I've skimmed a few of them and can't wait to dig in properly), I have a question of my own — just to get my bearings and tune my answers: how familiar are you all with the ancient Greek world and its mythology?
And here's a second one: would any of you be able to read this book in Spanish? It hasn't been translated into English yet.

Well, I'm a fiction writer (novels, short stories), a playwright, an essayist, and a poet. I know, I know — that's a lot! But honestly, I identify myself with each one of these literary genres. I'd say "this is what I am" rather than "what I do" or "how I make a living" — you get the difference, right?
Of course, that's not the whole picture: I'm also a theater director, and for several decades now I've been working in marketing — hey, a guy's gotta eat, you know what I mean, right? Haha!
As for the rest, I imagine it'll naturally unfold through this very thread, depending on what you're curious about. After all — how do you separate the story of a work from the story of its author? (And while we're at it: how do you separate your story as readers from the story of your readings?)
