Excellent review Gyalten. On my TBR. Honest and direct writing with simplicity of style conveying deep character development is the best kind of writing.

I have also read "The Trees," but so far that is it. However, I have the interest/intent to read the rest of his novels, but it is not an urgent thing, I am slowly collecting copies of his books when they jump out at me so I will have them when the mood strikes...

Thanks! Percival Everett's writing is definitely both direct and evocative, and any simplicity comes from being precise and intentional. Very enjoyable to read!
