Poor guy! Even as a character he couldn't deal with it for long. Sorry this was such a disappointing read, Shelley. I stopped bothering with all those tags and comparisons. They rarely seem to be true these days.

Ugh yes, marketing on some books is so overhyped, and then it's just disappointing when you read it.

Repetition, stilted dialogues and unbelievable plot 😭 the recipe for disaster! So many of the newer books have that problem nowadays, it’s maddening. Hope your next read is better, Shelley 💗

I don't know Alex Sinclair, so I looked him up and he is sort of a neighbour to me, living in the country near Melbourne. Sorry one of his earlier works didn't grab you, but you do make a good point about the BS hype publishers turn out!
