Hello thereMy name is Advita but you can call me Adu.[my nickname ]
I am from India.
My favorite genre is Mystery Thriller.
Current status:Student
I want to have dinner with Frieda Mcfadden as her books are so good and fast-paced.
My hobbies are Crocheting and Reading books and I love listening to songs.
That's all.
Heyaaa, gooding! I’m Ciri, an Indian reader drawn to historical fiction, literary classics, psychological thrillers, mystery novels, and queer stories that unfold like confessions.
If I could have dinner with any author? Wow, uhmm, to be honest, I sit with books for the stories, and T.J. Klune always captures me with his fantasy worlds. So, if we could share time and space together, even for a while, I'd ask him to narrate another tale to me, something out of the blue, but uniquely his. I want to know what his mind comes up with in a fraction of a moment.
Yay, thank you for reading me!
Hiiii!I'm Rylee, you can call me Ry if you want too.
I am from North America.
I'm still exploring my genres so I am enjoying a bit of everything. Some of my favorite books is Dear Medusa by Olivia A. Cole, The Summer of Broken Rules by K.L Walther, and Yellowface by R.F Kuang, and If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin.
Choosing one author would be difficult, so I would be between Ashley Poston and Olivia A. Cole.
I really enjoy reading books and manga, watching anime, and a little bit of crocheting.
Welcome, everyone!I'm so happy to see you all here, and a special welcome to Aditya, Siri, and Riley. I enjoyed reading about your diverse interests; they truly enrich our community.
Since we're on a journey of getting to know each other, I wanted to share a bit about my world with you. I'm Maher, and like you, I'm an avid reader above all else. Mystery, suspense, and fantasy have always been my compass when it comes to reading.
Currently, I'm exploring different worlds. While I'm immersed in the details of "Project Mammoth," I'm also captivated by Jules Verne's "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea." Stories of seas and pirates have a special allure that I can't resist, a passion I share with my following of the world of "One Piece."
Besides my love of reading, I'd like to add that I've recently embarked on my journey as a freelance writer, and this community is my space where I hope we can grow together, exchanging experiences and stories, as readers and lovers of literature, first and foremost. Thank you for joining, and I look forward to learning more about you and your reading journeys!
Hello! Thank you for the invite. I go by 'SuS' or 'Dr.E' (this last mostly to my students). I am an archaeologist living in Arizona but am originally from Southern California. I love a lot of genres. My favorites are fantasy, scifi, 19th C. literature, graphic novels, horror, mystery, historic fiction. But honestly I read just about any book someone hands me, even nonfiction at times.
What author would I have dinner with? I am torn between two: Umberto Eco because he seems like he was brilliant and I have so many questions for him about life and teaching and humans; or Terry Pratchett because he seems like he was funny and kind and had a way of looking at the world, even at the bleakest of times, that would give you hope.

Maher - have you thought about doing the Reading of the World Project where you read a book from an author from each country in the world? I have been doing it for awhile now, and it is amazing to be the perspectives you can get when reading authors with such very different backgrounds.

"Welcome, Dr. Sus, and I'm delighted to have you join us. I was very impressed by your idea of 'Reading the World'; it's a truly inspiring initiative and aligns perfectly with our goal here of building bridges of knowledge between different cultures. As a founder of this community, I'm very happy to embrace this kind of enriching discussion. What do you think about dedicating a sub-volume or a special topic under the title 'Reading the World' where you can start presenting your idea and we can begin discussing it? It would be wonderful to benefit from your academic expertise in guiding us to select books that represent diverse cultures. Thank you for enriching this space with your presence and ideas."

Welcome to our community, Beth! It’s wonderful to have you with us.
We share a great passion for Fantasy and Sci-Fi, which are among my personal favorites as well. It’s also exciting to hear that you’re exploring Asian literature—that adds such a unique flavor to our group's reading list.
As someone who is both a reader and an aspiring indie author, I’m always looking to connect with fellow book lovers to share recommendations and ideas. I’m sure you’ll find plenty of great discussions here, and I’m looking forward to your input on our upcoming reads.
Glad to have you on board!
Hi Everyone.I'm Sailor, 20, from Oregon and an aspiring writer.
I enjoy reading romance, romantasy, dark fantasy, fantasy, speculative literary fiction and science fiction.
I enjoy reading about what people are reading and their reviews of what they thought.
I have Discord if anyone wants to chat and happy to chat here also.
Hi all! Martin here from the US (originally from Europe, though). @Maher, thanks for the invite to the new group!I'm into Sci-Fi (Murderbot, Andy Weir) and popular science non-fiction. Avid reader (at least 1hr a day) who for some reason never joined Goodreads until last month. I also write.
Glad to be here!
Hello! I’m Jay from the Maldives. A connoisseur of fantasy, with a taste for sci-fi in between, which is why my first club here was SFF-dedicated. This is my second. Horror, thrillers, and mysteries appeal to me as well, with a particular fondness for dark wit. Some authors I enjoyed during the proverbial formative years include: Susan Cooper, Agatha Christie, K.A. Applegate, Arthur C. Clarke, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, David Eddings, Robert Jordan, George R.R. Martin, J.K. Rowling, Stephen King, Ursula K. Le Guin, Orson Scott Card, Terry Goodkind, and several others of that vein. Authors who caught my eye more recently include Haruki Murakami, R.F. Kuang, Scott Lynch, M.L. Wang, Abraham Verghese, and Patrick Rothfuss. Plus, I’m always discovering both classic and contemporary works thanks to clubs like this.
However, I probably wouldn’t go for coffee with anyone on that list... that’d be Tolkien. We’d doodle over coffee while chatting about the writing process, worldbuilding, and editorial demands. Jam biscuits on the side. It would probably last one to three hours. I’d offer to pay, but Tolkien would insist it’s on him, and I’d politely agree and keep all my money. Then we’d say “cheerio” and part forever. It would be perfect.
If Tolkien can’t make it, I’ll steal Pratchett away from Gaiman and we’ll have takeaway coffee at a nearby beach. In this scenario I’d insist on paying, but in coins I shall carry in a small burlap bag tied to my belt— I’ll count them out very slowly and sadly unless Pratchett offers to use his credit card. Then I’ll tell him all about my life in broadcast media and failed attempt to become an author because he should know how to crack the right jokes about it.
Anyway, I also read non-fiction from time to time—nature sciences, history, and philosophy. Last year’s personal non-fiction favourite was a guide to pigeon watching, but a more substantial highlight would be Operation Paperclip, so that should give you some idea of my reading habits. I hope members here will share all kinds of reads to help us discover new titles and authors.
Thank you for the invite, Maher. I’m very happy to be here! Greetings to Adu, Ciri, Ry, dr.e (a.k.a. SuS the archaeologist), Beth, Sailor, Martin, and everyone else who is bound to introduce themselves here. I love dr.e’s idea of running a "Reading the World" list. We can unearth so many new titles that way, which is one of my primary goals in joining these clubs.
Once again, thank you for having me!

I also want to apologize to all of you, my dear friends, for my limited presence lately. Thank you for your understanding and continued support."

I'm excited to be part of this community and to connect with fellow writers and readers.
No need to apologize for being busy—working on a new book is a wonderful reason to be away! Your fantasy world sounds fascinating. A land of ice, mammoths, penguins, and humans all coming together in one adventure is such a unique and imaginative concept. I look forward to learning more about it and reading it when it's released.
Wishing you the best as you continue writing, and thank you again for your encouragement and support. I'm looking forward to sharing experiences and learning from everyone here.

I’ve added one of yours to my TBR list already, and will be checking it out soon. Treasure Island was a favorite as a youngster, and when I recently read Red Seas Under Red Skies I realised my love for buccaneering adventures remain intact! Which means your premise for Pirates of the Earth and Clown Island piques my interest as well.
And delighted to have you, Kimberly! Welcome.
