Paul Fulcher Was nice to see The Sailor (and the motorboat Eline) reappear for some continuity.

Yes suspect Vaim Weekly will leave more questions than answers! Sounds like even more of a ghost story - although perhaps the ghosts the editor encounters will include Jatgeir and The Guest who both drowned.

"Vaim Weekly is a story about a newspaper office. Even though Vaim Weekly is published once a week, not much happens in Vaim, so the editor relies heavily on illustrated Obituaries. Working for the paper are a reporter named Sjursen, who doesn’t like talking to people; Guro, The Secretary, rumored to be having an affair with The Editor; and a reporter who takes his own life. When a new reporter is hired, The Editor himself is dead but still in the office, acting as if he were alive. From the editor’s chair, he sees himself walking on water, following other dead people out across the dark open sea."

Doug Oh, thanx for the translation of the synopsis - YOUR review convinced me I didn't need to reread Vaim before tackling this one! As the pub date for it in Norwegian isn't till Sept. 2027, it's going to be a long wait for the English. :-( I suspect I will reread the first two at that point. Fingers crossed for at least a little resolution! Cheers!

Paul Fulcher The English will be at the same time ie Sep 27 (and on Edelweiss earlier no doubt). It's how Fosse - or his publisher - rolls. He seems to write a book, release it in planned instalments but the translator gets to see it in advance. So Vaim Hotell is only due in the original in Sept 26.

He did the same with the three parts of the Septology (indeed I think the UK version may have been a week ahead of the Norwegian)
