I'm Michael from south Florida for the time being.Read almost anything. History buff, horror buff, love detective stories, and lately, been reading romances. Favorite author, based on how many books read, is Clive Cussler, followed by Robert B. Parker.
Favorite books are The Yearling and A Separate Peace.
I am jyotsana and currently i am reading Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Cruise. I am in the habit of starting two to three books simultaneously becuase i have long to read books!!
Hey Jyotsana! Welcome to the group. and that's awesome. I am reading 5 books at the same time right now myself. I love reading! :) I hope you have fun here in the reading for pleasure book club. Feel free to nominate a book for our group read for next month too.
Hi Everyone. My name is Chris. I am a recently retired physician who FINALLY has time to read for pleasure. I grew up in Tennessee but have lived in Rochester, MN, since 1980. I have 7 fabulous cats and a fabulous human partner. I love thrillers, mysteries, women's fiction and occasionally romance and historical fiction. I love Karin Slaughter, Tess Gerritsen, and S.J. Bolton, just to name a few. I love reading new author debut books where there are hidden gems galore! Nice to meet you, Michael and Jyotsana! Amber, thanks fir the invitation!Chris
Hey Chris welcome to the group! I hope you have fun here. We start our first group read next month so if you have a book you want to go nominate, feel free to go over and nominate one.
Hi Everyone, I love these online book clubs. Practically read anything, historical, romance, true life, crime, fantasy, factual, thriller etc. get most of my books online from better world books and the book depository and pass them on to others when I'm finished. Book clubs have really taken on here in Ireland over the last few years and nearly everyone I know has joined one. Have started writing flash fiction and am really enjoying the experience.
Awesome Etain! Welcome to the group. I hope you have fun here. We start our first group read next month so feel free to nominate a book for the poll which nominations end on the 25th of this month and then we vote afterwards. This is my first time moderating my own book club by myself besides running tattered tales so I hope everyone will have fun here.

Hi guys, I'm Tamara!I love reading supernatural fantasy books in particular but I'm into anything that sounds exciting. I have tons of favorite writers from Bradbury to Gaiman but Diana Wynne Jones currently tops my list. I just started reading a zombie apocalypse book called Sundered by Shannon Mayer.
No prob. I can't believe there are 11 members in the book club already! Awesome I've only started this book club today too. :-)

Hi! My name is sandy and I am a publican in a small town in the central North Island of NZ. My favourite author is Stephen King, but I love to read and enjoy everyone from Rosamunde Pilcher to Greg Isles. My ambition is to become a beach bum in North Queensland, Australia and lie on the beach and read all day!

Hey Sandra welcome to the group! I hope you have fun here. Stephen King is a great author. It's cool you are from Australia. I've always wanted to go there. :)
Don't forget club members, We are currently selecting nominations for our first book club group read that we are starting next month so please go here to place down your selections. You only have until July 25th and then I'll set up the poll and we'll vote and the winner will be our book club's first book club read and discussion. Go here to see the nominations thus far and put yours down. When we have 6 books nominated, I'll set up the poll so everyone can vote and it'll be at the front of the book club page. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
BTW, feel free to invite your friends to the reading for pleasure book club. I've been inviting mine too. :) I hope new members will show up soon. Enjoy all the threads I made thus far too.
Hi everyone I recommend the book The Ocean at The End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman for the first group read. I have heard his books are well written.
Hey Jennifer I'll go add it to the august group read nominations thread for you. Yours will be nomination #5. We only need 1 more book nomination before I set up the poll and we vote.
Hi everyone Can we recommend more than one book? If so I also recommend Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline.
Hey Jennifer I thought you wanted ocean at the end of the lane and I think it to be fair one nomination per person.
I do want ocean at the end of the lane. I will stick with that book. I was justing trowing suggesting around.
Jennifer wrote: "Hi everyone I recommend the book The Ocean at The End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman for the first group read. I have heard his books are well written."I have been interested in reading that one, Jennifer. Great pick!

Awesome. The poll is up so you guys can go vote now for what book you'd like to have as our first book club group read and the winner will be selected august 1st. I already voted and two of the books are pretty good reads that I have read already (Ocean at the end of the lane and Nefarious). Here's the link to the poll or just go to the bottom of the club's home page to do so. https://www.goodreads.com/poll/list/1...
