Terice Reynolds This group looks a little quiet. Are there any active members still taking note of the discussions? I'm hoping so. Historical Romance seems to be getting quietly left behind in a world of romantasy and dark romance.

HR-ML Hi Terice--

Welcome!

I can't concentrate at times to read, b/c of health issues & the news is a downer.
I have a few HRs on TBR and might read one.

BJ The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie
I believe this is a great introduction to well written Historical Romance. It is not new - I've read this book a number of times over the years - and all of the books in this series.
The Study of a Rake is another great writer.

HappyBookWorm2020 I love historical romance! Some of my favorite books are Kelley Armstrong's A Rip Through Time series, anything by Grace Burroughs, Christina Dodd's Daughter of Montague series (Romeo and Juliet's daughter did not initially want to be married - but she is coming around), Virginia Heath, Lenora Bell, and Cara Devlin. These are just books by people I've read recently.

I highly recommend The Daughter of Montague series just because it is so different from any other series I've read.

Terice Reynolds Some of these titles look amazing. I've written my own Highlander Romance as well.

The Seer: Psychic Highlander Series: Book 1

I'm always on the lookout for new HR reads so I'm looking forward to browsing these titles.

Carol I'm also big on both historical romance and historical mystery. I've read most of the above books and more. I do branch out and would like to rec two short easy but very good reads, When I was Seven and Sipsworth.

Roberta K I'm doing a lot of rereading. It's a comfort to me in these most uncomfortable times.

I'm going through my kindle via author A-Z. I just started on C. lol I don't read everything, just either the books I loved or ones I have no memory of, which are quite a number. Most of them I don't remember because they aren't that good.

HappyBookWorm2020 I've finished one book from NetGalley, which I loved. It was written by one of my favorite authors (Jodi Taylor).

I'm currently reading another book from NetGalley, and I like this one too. It's the first book I've read from this author.

Dungeons and Danger

Lavinia Darcy Hi Terice,

HR is being left behind but there are a bunch of indie writers, not the AI ones, who are keeping the genre alive by writing angsty, heartbreaking books! While the classics are classic for a reason, we should all be supporting indie authors!

Long live historical romance!
