Mark, how nice to read that you called this book ‘an airport book’ and that you found it simple fun. I did find this book on a seat in an airport as well and read it during my vacation. And left it behind again in an airport! I remember I enjoyed to read it during the holiday, it was a very pleasant holiday read. Gosh, can you imagine that this particular book could still have travelled around a while because people left it at airports? Wouldn’t that be nice!
This review itself is a lot of fun, and wow, what does that book not have? Is the 80s feminism quasi 9 to 5 movie style? Because the song from it immediately popped in my head!

LOL I love that comparison because I love that movie. Now imagine if the three 9 to 5 ladies were a computer expert, a chess expert, and an ex-nun, all turned jet-setting spies.

We both read this in an airport! although I did finish it at home, it's so long it lasted over a week after the trip.
Big fan of assessing books by their suitability for reading on a plane. I have a shelf specifically called “long haul flight recommendation” just because “airport fiction” carries a negative connotation. I reckon writing good airport fiction is like writing a children’s book, probably a lot harder than people think.
