People often ask 'what book or series catches the feel of the Dark Souls video games?
This one.

I'd argue with much better, or at least more memorable characters, though. This book took me a few tries to get past that initial hump of 'god, is this dreary and bleak' before cracking into it. His writing helps a lot.

Funny how he's only ever been rec'd to me by other writers.
