I’ve been thinking a lot about how “I needed to find out what happened next!” and “I couldn’t put it down!” are pejorative comments, when it comes to literary fiction.

the literary equivalent of "you look like you give great hugs!" i feel like this often happens when certain lit fic authors attempt plot when they've never attempted plot before or being a little ~weird~ or ~quirky~ when they've never been either of those things either
