yes Jean i am a huge fan of austen. However i have only been able to read Mansfield Park & Pride and Prejudice. i have seen the movie Sense and Sensibility (by Ang Lee), Mansfield Park, Pride and Prejudice (BBC series and the 2005 movie) and Emma.
but i have to say that pride and prejudice has no equal.
i came across ur review of northanger abbey and i found it really impressive and that was the reason why i enquired about you being an austen fan.

"Only", Jyotsana?! I think that's pretty impressive before you're 20! Yes Pride and Prejudice is the most popular and critically acclaimed, I think, although my personal favourite is Sense and Sensibility. Ang Lee's film of that is superb, isn't it, especially the screenplay by Emma Thompson. Definitely read that one when you have the time! It's long - but worth it!No question about "keeping up". We have fun in this group and share what we can :)

Alan Rickman was the BEST. i saw sense and sensibility after watching the Harry Potter series and i was amazed his versatility.

Yes, though I prefer some of the others. If you ever get the chance, do watch the TV version of Anthony Trollope's "Barchester Towers" (which is actually two stories). Alan Rickman plays an odious greasy character in that called Obediah Slope, and he is different again - and slimily wonderful :D
