message 15: by Sophie (new)

Sophie Dragons in Our Midst / Oracles of Fire / Children of the Bard - 3x connected series of 4x books (12 total), by Bryan Davis. Highly recommend.

The Binding of the Blade - 5x books, complete, by L.B. Graham

The Chronicles of Pylisya - 1x book with #2 due this year, by S.J. Coates

The Pendragon Cycle - 5x books, with a 6th that is slightly connected (but not necessary), by Stephen Lawhead

All of the above are by Christian authors. Lawhead's are the most adult of the series (but still clean!) whereas the other 3 are more teen/young adult.

Camila I. I love Dragons In Our Midst! I have’t read the others, but they look good! Thanks for sharing 😊

Tara West Why I wrote my Christian Science Fiction/ Fantasy book Eternity Now. I love nonfiction and apologetics so never thought I'd write fiction but I think fiction was the best place to dive into this particular topic. So here is the why.....

The inspiration for this book came from a question that has long haunted me: What could possibly be so alluring, so compelling, that it would cause Christians to openly deny Christ in the End Times? The notion seemed unfathomable until I began to explore a truth that lay hidden in plain sight.
The core of Eternity Now is built upon a profound realization: the most enticing lie is one that mimics a perfect truth. A story my husband told me that he had heard when he was younger about the Latin phrase sine cera, or "without wax," became the moral compass of this journey. It’s a principle that speaks of a beauty so flawless it needs no deception. My characters must confront the deceptive allure of a man-made paradise and face the central question: would they trade a genuine, eternal life for a counterfeit, earthly forever?

The second is a quote from C.S. Lewis, a writer who profoundly shaped my understanding of faith and suffering. He wrote, "Can you not see death as the friend and deliverer? It means stripping off that body which is tormenting you. What are you afraid of? Has this world been so kind to you that you should leave it with regret?" These words became the very heart of the resistance, asking the most profound question of all: What is truly worth fearing, and what is truly worth losing?

This is not a book about the sensationalism of the apocalypse, but about the deeply personal spiritual war that precedes it, one that mirrors the prophetic vision of the book of Revelation. My love of apologetics, coupled with the profound works of C.S. Lewis, Thomas Merton, G.K. Chesterton, Charles Williams, and Dorothy Sayers, shaped my approach. I hope that this story will challenge you to look at your own worldly attachments.

-----
Satan always offers a counterfeit. So if eternal heavenly life is our ultimate gift, it makes sense that Satan would attempt to offer up the counterfeit version of that to us. An "eternal" worldly life. Would you willing accept that trade? That is the premise of my book.
Can't wait to hear some feedback.😄

Elisabeth (Bets) Tara, is your book Eternity Now a standalone?

message 20: by Phoebe (new)

Phoebe Hinkle Sooooo . . . I don't like promoting myself but it's apropos so here goes 🫣

I've written two Christian low fantasy books (no magic, fictional medieval world but with elves and dragons) - I'm planning a couple more books in the series (Tales of Veridon) but those are the first two.

The first book, To Stand, has sort of Robin Hood vibes; it's about four outlaw friends who start out rescuing people from the tyrant king. They get mixed up in bigger stuff than they expected and things get epic. 🤓

Book 2, End of the Earth, tags place 20 years later. It follows the son of one of the main characters in To Stand. The son and his friend get kidnapped by pirates and sold into slavery on a tropical island. They have enough on their hands with trying to survive, let alone think about getting home.

You can read the real blurbs on my profile or my website (blackotterbooks.com) and they are both on Amazon. 😊

Enough of me yapping now, thanks for putting up with me! 😆

Those look so cool. Honestly, you had me at "robin hood vibes"! I am currently on a self-imposed book-buying budget XD (I have a mini horse to get hay for in the winter & am paying for the costs of publishing my own book at the moment) but your books look so good - I am glad you bit the bullet and self-promo-ed (and I hear you, I hate it too, classic introvert move I think?)

message 22: by Phoebe (new)

Phoebe Hinkle Aww, thank you, Sydney! 😊

You have a mini horse?! No way, that's so cute!! 😍

Yes, very much an introvert move. I think I get it from my dad, though; we both hate interviews and having to "sell ourselves". 🫠

⪩ emily marie ⪨ Firedark by Mereda Hart Farynyk is an indie-published high fantasy series that has a lot of Christian allegory, especially in the later books (I have yet to finish the series but it’s really good!)

message 24: by Bertron (new)

Bertron Hamill Not so much as trying to promote myself as sharing to the genre of the topic, but my work, "The Reckoning of Olote" is an Epic Christian Fantasy that endeavors to tell the Gospel of Christ and biblical symbols in a fantasy setting. Where due to the dark lord Korar's deception, the Elaith have fallen away from the creator, Etheruvar, in a curse and the creator gives his promise of his "Gift of redemption" to reconcile the Elaith. But the dark lord seeks to break Etheruvar's word. The story released yet in the series, Ocnarin Book One, focuses a lot on the developments and shifting civilizations of the Elaith in how they respond in looking to Etheruvar's promise and his word and how Korar wars with them and how he aims to attempt breaking Etheruvar's word, but ends with advent of the promise. Each book tells its own complete set of events in story, but the next book in the Ocnarin will show the "Gift of redemption" being given.

Just sharing for those interested in Christian Fantasy

Hunter H. Treasures of the Lochs
This is suspenseful YA Christian fiction, involving a modern-day treasure hunt in Scotland, with a bit of supernatural thrown in. Blending historical fact and Scottish legend within an action-packed adventure, Treasures of the Lochs is a powerful story of faith, friendship, and redemption. The target audience is teenage and above (some parts would be too intense for younger readers). This book is a 2024 NIEA Finalist in Religion Fiction. It also hit Amazon#1 New Release for Christian Fantasy. I hope you’ll check it out. Also- this Friday (March 6, 2026), there is a ONE DAY SALE on Amazon, and the price of the Kindle/e-book version will be reduced to $2.99.

Dane Stewart If you’re looking for clean YA fantasy with courageous heroes, meaningful character growth, and plenty of adventure/action, I’d love to mention my own book, Skyworld. I’m an indie fantasy author and wrote it for readers who enjoy epic stories with characters they can genuinely look up to- without sexual content or profanity.

Really appreciate groups like this that support uplifting and wholesome storytelling.

message 29: by Christina (new)

Christina Shaw I will third or fourth the Mark of the Raven series! I just finished it this year and it was pretty fun. Although I totally wish there was a second series about one of the other gifts or about a child who had two. That would be awesome!

I didn't see The Quest of the Dragon's Princess by Lee Watts, which I also just finished this month, but I totally recommend this one! It has a lot of Princess Bride vibes and if you're into movies there are quotes/allusions to Princess Bride, LOTR, Narnia, Court Jester, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, Pride and Prejudice, and probably more. That's all I could remember off the top of my head. But you'll probably only notice it if you know!

Also, I've written 3 Christian fantasy books. The first is called Light-Bringer. It's a standalone that is like Pilgrim's Progress meets The Giver. Alethia, the main character, lives in a town where light is banned and colors are limited, but when a guy from the village returns glowing with light and Alethia's dad helps to sentence him to death, she has to decide if she's going to help him escape.

The second and third fantasy books I've written (The Just Man book 1 and The Hidden Path book 2) are in a series that has strong Ranger's Apprentice vibes with a boarding school setting. Sean just wants to be like his hero dad and that means going to and graduating from the same school that turned his dad into someone who saved 26 men. But the school is harder than he thought. He has to learn how to throw knives, survive the obstacle course, and not fail history. He also has to train to be the kind of person who can quickly be heroic. And there's plenty of opportunities to practice what he's learning with kidnapping, fiery rescues, and being hunted as just some of the adventures he faces, with more to come!
