I love Frances. She loves all her children and accepts them for who they are. When she talks about her oldest son, shr recognizes she could have been a better mother. With her younger childen I think she is learning from old mistakes and making better decisions partly because she is happy now.

Frances is great for all those reasons - one thing I love writing about her as a mom is how she's changed and grown.
I chose Mélanie since she didn’t expect being a mother would change things. She thought she would be able to leave Colin with Malcolm when being a French spy was revealed. She learned differently. She is a great mother.

I think all of them have changed and grown as mothers.
While all of the women are unique in their own fashion, I have come to really admire Kitty, who in spite of everything fell in love with Julien, has raised her children to love and accept others and still fight for what she feels is right and fair. She also accepts that she is not perfect and that is all any of us can acknowledge.

Agreed! Though I don't think even at the first she thought she'd leave Colin. But she did think she could leave Malcolm and take Colin with her. When she saw Colin's bond with Malcolm she realized that wasn't possible.

What a great way of putting it! I love Kitty. I also think it's cool that she was quite comfortable as a single mother after Edward died. She married Julien because she realized she loved him, but she was quite happy on her own with her children.
