Courtney R. Have you read other Chuck Wendig books? This was my first from him and I wasn’t a fan, but I tend not to enjoy supernatural/metaphysical and didn’t read a thorough summary before starting (was this just my own fault?)…?

Jeffrey Keeten I enjoyed The Book of Accidents and The Black River Orchard more. The Book of Accidents is more along the lines of a 1980s fat epic horror. The Black River Orchard is probably going to be his best loved book of horror. He does have two epic apocalyptic novels...Wanderers etc. that also may be more to your liking. Really though there is so much to read out there, you may not be a good fit for Wendig. I've met Wendig and he is such a great person and so wildly weird that I will always read what he has to offer. I was hoping this would be as good as Donna Tartt's The Secret History, which was so well (classic) done, but unfortunately Chuck fell short.
