David Mc Terrific review, Michael. While this was not my favorite short story by Poe, the ending would have made Alfred Hitchcock proud

Jill H. I read this years and years ago and to tell the truth, once was enough. It was one nerve wracking story that stayed with me for a long time.

I googled if was ever made into a movie. The 1934 horror classic starring Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff, and a 1981 Italian version directed by Lucio Fulci. These adaptations often only loosely follow the original 1843 story, often focusing on themes of revenge and the supernatural.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, there has been at least one theatrical rendition of the story
