Thanks for the interesting review. I recently finished writing a book on the French wars for North Africa 1827-1934, to be published in October, and to be honest I hadn't known of Plummer's book, perhaps because it's self-published (which isn't at all a knock against it since many good books are such). I couldn't devote nearly as much space as this to the Rif War, which definitely needs closer study!

Hi Edward, thanks for that. I will keep an eye out for your new book as it sounds very interesting and I really enjoyed your two WW1 books; "Thunder and Flames: Americans in the Crucible of Combat, 1917-1918" and "To Conquer Hell: The Meuse-Argonne, 1918".
