Anna Faversham I usually read it through fairly soon after typing The End. Reading through a first draft can sometimes be alarming - words missing, etc. My brain has thought them but my fingers didn't get them onto the page. And that's just one thing that I find I need to attend to - there are many more.

D. Thrush I usually dive right in, though it might be good to get a short breather. I find little errors that make me wonder how they slipped through and find myself amazed at how my subconscious tied it all together because I don't outline.

Readers don't realize how much persistence it takes to write an entire book. The first draft is the hardest for me. Writer's block plagues me. Good luck, J!

J. Thanks. My editor always says I know all the stuff but I often didn't put in down for the reader. This latest book is (I think) worse than most of my other first drafts and I will need to do a lot of work before it will be ready even for my editor.
All the best to both of you. What new projects are you working on?

D. Thrush I'm stalled. It's difficult to get up the energy when it's such an uphill battle to sell the books out there.
