Hi!!!
I don t remember the name of the book. It's a college romance where the male lead is an athlete (maybe hockey or football) and lives with his teammates. He starts seeing a girl in a low-key or secret way.

One night, after practice or maybe a fight, he gets hit in the head. It doesn't seem serious at first, but when they're in bed later, he starts showing signs of a head injury—he’s confused, not fully conscious, maybe moving involuntarily.

The girl panics, doesn't know what to do, and calls one of his friends. The friend is surprised to see them together (he didn't know they were seeing each other). They take him to the hospital. I also remember he doesn’t have close family—his teammates and this girl are his only support.

I think this was part of a series where each book focused on one guy from the friend group.

College hockey series, each book follows a different guy from the friend group. Male MC is quiet/reserved, falls first, has family but is estranged from them — his teammates are his found family
Female MC is a friend of one of his teammates, she resists her feelings for him. They're secretly dating around the middle of the book and after a practice he gets hit in the head, seems okay and goes to sleep, but later shows concussion symptoms — almost unconscious. She panics and calls a teammate who shows up, is shocked to find them together, but keeps the secret

off campus and briar u series!!! not a single skippable book!!!

Hi Candela, jules is spot on—this is almost certainly from the Briar U series by Elle Kennedy. The setup (college hockey team as found family, secret relationship, concussion subplot) matches one of the books in that series. Start with "Off Campus" or "Crash" if you haven't read them yet.

While you're at it, if you love this kind of thing, you might also enjoy the broader "sports romance" niche. Hockey and football are well covered, but baseball is seriously underserved—there are only a handful of titles out there, and most of them are M/M. If you're open to that, The First Contact (Wild Pitch #1) is a baseball rivals-to-lovers with a lot of the same tension and found-family energy you get from Briar U. Worth a look if you're curious.
