I whole heartedly agree with your review, and you summarized it way better than I could have.
I am also struggling with this! The jokes are a bit grating, and also, a lot of claims are made but not explained upfront which my ND brain finds very frustrating. Struggling to finish.
100%. Interesting opening act. Then downhill and boring from there. Space law should have been 3-5 pages max.
From reading your review I get the impression that the book did "resonate" with you, but it resonated for too long and got repetitive. And it had too much nerdy humor. That being said, you've convinced me not to read it. Your bullet points on why it's a bad idea to colonize Mars was quite sufficient for me. Indeed, those points are rather obvious to anyone who knows anything about Mars and basic human biology.
