Elizabeth, I highly recommend it. I thought that it was exceptionally well done. I was planning to get a review written by today but I think it probably will not be until at least tomorrow and I don’t know how much of one I’m going to write.
Wonderful and touching review, Lisa!! This looks like a must read. I will look for it at my library. Thank you for your detailed review!

Margie, I hope that you can find a copy to read. It was special.
I love the cover of this one and I appreciate that you mentioned that some of the characters aren't human! I'm finishing up a novel right now and I have been as interested in the dog as I've been in any of the human characters, and it begs to be mentioned.

Julie, I highly recommend this book! It's really special. At first the dog didn't seem to ahve the biggest role but he does become important and just having him as a character made me happy. There is one other animal too who makes a brief appearance.
Julie, I just looked at your page. Is the book with the dog Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher?
I have that book on my to read list. Off to check that it's on my dogs shelf...
P.S. Yes, the dogs shelf is there. I'm eager to read your review. Maybe I'll bump up reading the book if you've enjoyed it.

Julie, Thanks. I'll look for it.

Laura, Thank you. I did. It was excellent.
Beautiful review Lisa. It sounds like a charming story. I’ve read some inverse stories in the past and some I like more than others. Interestingly enough there’s a book I read called up from the sea which is also about 911 and is told in verse.

Thanks, Bren. I don't usually gravitate to b books in verse but I have enjoyed a few and this is one of them. I'll look for Up From the Sea.

Eileen, Thanks.
I highly recommend it. If you read it I'd love to read what you think of it.
I recently read this and loved it! I got it from the library but think I'll get my own copy. Like you, it made me want to go hiking, but also like you I fear heights now. That only made me admire Finn more for his courage and determination. I was so moved by this story. Kate Messner is a great writer!
