Michael She used her "Southern roots" and accent to appeal to voters, speaking about the "ties that bind us together" rather than the tensions that divide. Another book for my tbr shelf thanks

(Well, one more thing I learned from this book is that Goldwater was much worse than I realized--I was just a little girl back then).

Fran Hawthorne Thanks, Kimberly. Of course, this book's author really gets the credit for uncovering this history. I wish Lady Bird had been more appreciated as a strong woman, not just a gracious Southern belle.
