"My Latest Grievance" by Elinor Lipman is the answer. I know that. It was an easy and entertaining read. Of course it popped into my head immediately after I posted here.Should I delete my post?
No, please keep your post up. It may help someone else who has read My Latest Grievance but can't remember the title or author, and uses this site to try to identify it.
First person narration by genial student whose parents both work as teachers, at the same school as I recall.
Congenial voice; likeable; only lightly sarcastic. Good quick addictive read.
