I'm Phillip Strang — Sydney-based crime fiction writer with over 150 novels across 16 active series, and I wanted to introduce myself to the group.
Two of my series are set in Australia: Natalie Campbell is a Sydney detective (6 books), and Maya Thorne works out of the Australian Outback (16 books). The rest are mostly UK-set — DI Keith Tremayne in rural Wiltshire (9 books), DCI Isaac Cook in London (13 books), DI Sarah Lynch in the Scottish Highlands, and others.
For anyone doing the annual series challenge, Maya Thorne at 16 books is well past the threshold — and if you want something set closer to home, it doesn't get more Australian than the Outback. The Tremayne (9) and Cook (13) series also qualify if you're after British procedurals.
I've spent a lot of my working life in remote parts of Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan — installing telecommunications infrastructure in places most people never visit. That background feeds into the writing more than any research ever could.
Happy to answer questions about the books or series order. Good to be here.
