Noëlle ♡ (daughter of the king) Ugh yeah seriously! That's why I at least want to try to do all my editing myself, although, again, it's hard, so I don't know how well that will go.

Jacquelyn 💐 {This Rapunzel Reads} [Jesus Christ, my Living Hope] Noëlle, same! I did a lot of it and then a couple friends of mine helped as well. I know that there probably will be a couple mistakes here and there, but at least I didn’t spend thousand of dollars.

𝔉𝔦𝔫𝔠𝔥 I edit my friends books for free 😭 But they’ve never published the books and I am by no means professional.

𝔸𝕘𝕟𝕖𝕤 I help people with developmental edits for free or ask them to do an ARC for a book of mine. I don't do the grammar stuff but I'd recommend looking for another author (preferably an adult) or perhaps an English teacher.

Yeah exactly! Having advice from friends, especially those who are smart and/or read a lot is very helpful

Honestly I wouldn't trust my English teacher 😭 she's said several things in class that are just so blatantly wrong that I'm surprised no one else noticed 😭

Keira Mueller Editors are expensive! Thankfully, my aunt has an English degree, so she helped me. ARC readers could probably catch any small errors!

Havelah McLat There are editors who are flexible. I work with Kelsey who did Dust and Crown and The Silent Journey. While her price is a little high, but she does a lot. She does couple rounds which many editors don’t. I can’t say for every editor. But I felt like I got more for what I paid. Also you can barter. For example I’m book formatter. I would swap my service for editing.
