You may enjoy the sequel, SLEEPER BEACH, more. While it's still a murder mystery, it takes a much more philosophical turn. A lot of the book focuses on what it means to be a titan, and how this semi-future society is put together. The "noir" feel is toned down to the point of absence–regrettable in my estimation as I do enjoy those types of stories–but Harkaway writes beautifully as always.
