Hi all! Just published my first novel and wanted to share it here.
The Museum of Us is a contemporary romance between two people in their late 50s and early 60s. Diane is 58, a widow who hasn't really let herself live since her husband died four years ago. Her house has become a kind of museum to her late husband, every object preserved exactly where he left it, every room frozen in time. She's grumpy, guarded, and perfectly comfortable pretending she's fine. Marcus is 62, warm and unhurried, and he shows up to tend her neglected garden with no agenda other than to do the job well. He doesn't try to fix her. He just keeps showing up.
It's a slow burn story about grief, identity, and what it means to choose to live again when part of you is convinced you shouldn't. Emotionally driven, clean-ish tone, no spice. Somewhere between contemporary romance and women's fiction.
