Hello everyone, I’m very happy to have Fallen Blossom listed as Book of the Month for September, and I’m looking forward to the chance to discuss it with group members.Fallen Blossom is a stand-alone mystery/thriller set in 1930’s Tokyo, (number 2 in the Oshima Tokyo Noir series). Oshima Kai has been invalided out of the army and is trying to settle down into normal life. It seems that’s just not going to happen.
When a headless corpse is found in a local shrine, Oshima finds himself chasing a murderer who kills in the pursuit of perfection. The search takes him back to the army, where the bitter struggle between factions threatens the life of his old commander. Meanwhile, the danger draws closer to home and the people he cares about most.
The setting may be unfamiliar, but I hope you will find it an interesting and refreshing change – and, of course, an exciting read.
