I've never read any of the Nero Wolfe books, but I have seen some of the stories on TV. The first I saw of them surprised me because it was an Italian series. MHz must have been where I saw them. There is also an American series. Both are good but who would have thought the Italians?
You nailed it, AC. It does start out rather slowly but sometimes that happens in the series. But leave it to Stout to pick up speed and write a fascinating story.
If you want to watch an exceptional Nero Wolfe series, see the one starring Maury Chaykin as Wolfe, and Timothy Hutton as Archie. It can be found on YouTube and it is beautifully done.
