Liza What baffles me about that choice to translate “usted” as “thee” is that “thee” and “thou” are the *informal* forms in English. In the Bible, “thee” is used with G_d because one has an intimate relationship with G_d. One would never say “thee” to a king. English lost the informal form as a way to be more egalitarian, same as using “mister” for everyone, not only for superiors.

Anyway, I’m glad I read your review so now I don’t have to read the book. 😊

Jeffrey Powanda Chapter 43 is a thrilling read. The book would have made an excellent short story.
