Hehe would it help slightly to know that the beetles are metaphorical? ;)
:) :)
But the butterflies DO hang out with non-villainous lifeforms in POC! Are you a friend to the butterflies? XD
WE MUST NOT FORGET THE BUTTERFLIES.

...yes, I could be called a friend to butterflies.
And moths.
And bees...especially the fuzzy ones.
Actually, beetles and I haven't always gotten off on the right foot, but that's not the point--

I have a rather interesting relationship with bees.
On one hand, I lost my record of never having been stung following contact with one such creature as I eagerly reached for a wonderfully pink kickboard. This was long ago, but it is very much seared into my memory.
However, the bees also are to be admired because I am, BookmarkedOne, a HUGE fan of honey. Honey on pancakes. Honey in honey drops (naturally), aka. struffoli. Honey (or jam) on aebleskiver. And, of course, honey might also find its way to bread in general. Speaking of which, I LOVE bread. XD I could go on about bread.
My family actually used to get honey directly from a beekeeper!
Anyway, I digress slightly . . .
As for moths and beetles, I'm afraid that I haven't quite befriended them yet. But I am willing to hear your Treatise on Why They Are Noble Friends, including your Beetle Amendment. Do go on! :)
As for the butterflies 🦋, I have always liked them, but they have become an absolute favorite over the past few years!! 😊 I love butterflies and butterfly designs and just ALL THE BUTTERFLIES now.
Needless to say, I am most assuredly friends with the butterflies. Video evidence available.

Butterflies are admirable. Very beautiful. Too delicate to seem quite real. Fly swoopingly. Always approve of something that flies swoopingly.
But the bookmarkedone is the sort to reach for overlooked creatures, like plain little moths and dandelion weeds. There is beauty in every blade of grass, if we know how to look.
I propose:
Moths: always find the light, no matter how dark the sky gets. The Icarus of insects. Silent poetry. Nocturnal stars to butterfly days.
Beetles: s h i n y. I direct you toward historical fashion decorated with beetle wings (we do not regret the sacrifice of Them that Eat My Flowers. Good beetles are a different story).
Bees: bumblefriend. little bee. fuzzy. is friend. knows things. falls asleep in flowers sometimes. little sunshine buddy. bee good. :)
Counterarguments are accepted, if necessary. ;)

Why, yes, it is that quality of being "too delicate to seem quite real" that connects to my love of butterflies. Their whimsical essence seems to transcend reality and take you to another world while still defining ours.
My life philosophy is very much aligned with this statement of yours, though: "There is beauty in every blade of grass, if we know how to look." I completely agree and applaud your decision also to seek the "overlooked creatures."
Your poetic reflection, of course, has my approval, as well as the appeal of anything shiny (preferably sparkly, for me), the notion of an animal friend falling asleep in flowers, and your commendation of those that "fly swoopingly."
While butterflies may seem less overlooked when compared to some of the aforementioned creatures, their deeper meaning is nevertheless often overlooked in our society. And so, I would say that they are still hidden remnants of faerieland, of a forgotten enchantment and wonder that may no longer be sought or remembered by many.
And so, that wonder still abides in small corners rather than flashy displays and perhaps, by being the more obviously "sparkly," the butterflies operate in a paradox that hides them all the more.
Maybe, in a way, even moreso than the creatures who seem most hidden.
But I'd like to say that they both are equally hidden, just in their own way.
As in most things, of course, there is no need to truly compare when there will always be one who finds special delight in the unique qualities of one particular marvel or another. It is lovely to experience that kind of joy when finding that which captivates us, but I've also found that one of the most beautiful things in the world is when you are able to appreciate another's "favorite," even if it's not something that you would naturally be drawn to . . . and, by seeing it through another's eyes and caring enough to see it, you find its value, too.
