Wow, special review Kevin. My curiosity is piqued by this. I hope audacious storytellers are about to have a renaissance.

Thank you so much, Dave.
I do hope that audacious storytellers are about to have a renaissance too!
Alternatively, please allow your curiosity to be piqued by Boyne's 'The Heart's Invisible Furies'
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
or his 'A Ladder to the Sky'

Antoinette wrote: "Splendid review, Kevin! Need to get back to reading John Boyne!"
Thank you, Antoinette! Kind of you to say so.
Yes, John Boyne almost always delivers.
Kevin, you never fail to entertain with your spectacular reviews! Well done!
It is too bad that audio isn't available. Hearing your rendition of Ra-ra, Rasputin would have been something. ;-)
Marialyce wrote: "Must read for me, Kevin your review is tres wonderful!"
Merci beaucoup, chère Marialyce!

Thank you, Kimber. That song is one of my guilty pleasures. The lyrics are so bad that they're good! On top of that, it's one of the catchiest tunes ever. : )
Rachel wrote: "Wonderful review, Kevin! I’ve never read anything by John Boyne, but I think I should start!"
Whaaaaat? 😲😉
Might I suggest 'The Heart's Invisible Furies', which is much loved by many? > https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
Thank you for your kind comment, Rachel. Happy reading!
Christina wrote: "I love your review! I have to read this book!!!"
Ooh, please do, Christina, and let me know how you got on.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment!
You are a ‘natural born storyteller’ too, Kevin, and this is a splendid review with your unique pixie touch.
You certainly know how to sell a book, Kevin!! 😊 Adding this to my agenda for sure. I hope I get a chance to belt out Ra-Ra-Rasputin! Such a catchy number, that one! 🎶
I have not yet read Dumas, and Hugos in detail, when you compare the author and also say you are a fan, I guess the fan of your writing should go, check them. I am adding the author Kevin, great lively review!

Have the world's greatest storytellers all died a long time ago, taking their precious secrets to the grave?
I sighed when I read that, for I sometimes despair that the answer might be "yes". Another stunning review by a masterful reviewer (Boyne should be gratified). It reminded me that I have had The Heart's Invisible Furies on my Kindle, lo these many years. Really must get to that!
Anyone says John Boyne and I’m there, with bells on. Excellent review my dear friend from across the pond. Both informative and entertaining.

Sadly, I think that the answer is a resounding "yes", Sara.
But I would love to see your take on Boyne's 'The Heart's Invisible Furies'. It's a great read!
Thank you for your kind words. It means a lot coming from you.

Thank you, my equally dear friend from across the pond!
Boyne can always be relied upon to deliver.

Hey Kevin, this beautifully written review - I love it. Now I'm a Boyne virgin - I need to be introduced to this guy, can you throw me a recommendation por favor? I loved the fantasy bit of you looking into "Johnny Boy's Eyes" - and his reply - typically Kevin and typically magical. I call my brother, John, "Johnny Boy" by the way - among other things 😂🎈😬
Beautiful review, Kevin! Your love for Boyne's writing shines, and I certainly hope you find more present-day storytellers that rise to the level you enjoy so much! ✨
Wow, this is the second John Boyne book I’ve seen reviewed this week which has prompted me to switch ‘Hearts Invisible Furies’ to this week instead. ‘Stover’ can wait to next week!!!
I think the style of the greatest storytellers from the past has changed but they still exist today. While the reviews over the years have become more fleshed out only some can do humour so well. You are evidence of both.
You are a master storyteller (I’ve read your books) who delivers reviews that make me smile and with such insightful content. Another superb review Kevin 💖

Only you could inspire someone to write a poem in the comments section!! Your review is scrumptious, as always. I just love to watch you play with words and give such thoughtful, funny critiques.
I love Boyne—the two you mentioned are wonderful. I need to read more! I have two on my To-Read pile. You make me want to get to them sooner!

Please do, Lorna. It's not as good as The Heart's Invisible Furies or A Ladder to the Sky, but an immersive read nonetheless.
