Cecily Interesting timing to be reading this. I presume you know about the controversy that's been all over UK broadsheets and BBC since around the time the film came out? The Observer and Tortoise Media did the in-depth investigation and exposé.

Jan-Maat Perhaps you haven't heard but it was a fake story, the woman who wrote it stole a lot of money from an employer , from family. The husband medical people say can't have had the illness that she says he had, and the acvount of their journey apparently doesn't add up either!

Gary Inbinder It wouldn't be the first time a best sellers' veracity has been questioned. For example, Henri Charriere's "Papillion" has long been considered more fictional than fact.
